ABOUTME

Having been drawn to art ever since I was young, or perhaps since I was born, I have never thought of it as a burden or work. Rather, art was an escape from reality into the world of my mind- imagination. In second grade, I took my first art class with a wonderful local art teacher, Mrs. Cathy Clark, where I learned the fundamentals of art and the use of various mediums such as charcoal, watercolor, acrylic, and inktense. In addition, I participated in a few art summer camps in Japan, including a class with a crayon illustrator, Ichikawa Takeshi, and a traditional Hagi pottery-painting class. Art in Japan is distinct from art in America, and it is intriguing to explore these two facets. In addition, I took art classes from RISD graduates, in which I challenged myself and experimented with different concepts and colors, which ultimately widened my scope of imagination. My dream is to become an artist who can inspire and uplift people through my art, and I hope to spread my passion to all parts of the world.
